Opening to Balance and Surrender with Pushpaputa Mudra
Sep 21, 2025
Life often asks us to hold so much—responsibilities, emotions, and the weight of everyday demands. Pushpaputa Mudra is a reminder to do the opposite: to soften, to open, and to receive. Practiced around the Autumn Equinox, when day and night stand in perfect balance, it helps us honor harmony within ourselves too.
WHY PRACTICE PUSHPAPUTA MUDRA:
This mudra is especially supportive for:
✨ Creating a sense of balance and harmony within
✨ Encouraging surrender and trust
✨ Setting an intention for the new season ahead
HOW TO:
🌿 Sit comfortably—on the floor, a cushion, or a chair with your feet grounded.
MUDRA:
✨ Cup your palms gently, as if holding a flower.
✨ Hold the mudra in front of your chest or resting on your lap.
✨ Soften through your shoulders and lengthen through your spine.
BREATH:
✨ Inhale slowly for a count of 3 or 4.
✨ Exhale for the same count, keeping your breath even.
✨ Continue for 3-5 minutes, breathing evenly and noticing how it brings you back to center.
MANTRA:
✨ I surrender into balance.
TO END:
When you feel complete, release your hands to your lap or place them anywhere else on your body. Allow the breath to return to natural. Notice any shifts—perhaps a greater sense of balance, openness and presence.
Pushpaputa Mudra reminds us that we don’t always have to hold on so tightly. This simple gesture invites us to open our hands and or hearts, creating space for balance to return as we step into the new season with more ease and presence. And from that place of balance, it becomes easier to release what no longer serves us.
As you move through this week, don’t forget to care of yourself with the same love you give to everyone else. 💖
